The Peugeot 308 is not the 3008 SUV. If you drive the 308 hatchback or estate and would rather leave your iPhone in your pocket, the first question is whether that particular car already runs Apple CarPlay over a cable. A wireless conversion adapter such as the Homniva Wireless CarPlay Adapter replaces that cable connection; it does not install CarPlay in a car that never had it.

Will a wireless CarPlay adapter work in my Peugeot 308?

What you find in your 308 Adapter outcome What to do
✅ An iPhone starts factory CarPlay when plugged into the car's data USB port Likely compatible with a wired-to-wireless adapter Test the adapter in that same port
⚠️ CarPlay already connects wirelessly without a cable An adapter is usually unnecessary Use the car's built-in wireless connection
❌ The USB port only charges, or the display never offers CarPlay A conversion adapter cannot add missing CarPlay software Check the handbook, infotainment settings and original equipment

Equipment varies by model year, market, trim and infotainment unit. Do not buy on the strength of a registration year alone. If you're unsure, follow our guide to checking whether your car has CarPlay. The Peugeot 3008 guide covers a different vehicle.

A quick wired test before you order

  1. Park safely, start the car and unlock your iPhone.
  2. Use a known-good data cable in the USB port intended for phone projection, not a charge-only socket.
  3. Accept any CarPlay prompts on the phone and car display.
  4. Open Maps or Music on the car screen. If it works by cable, you have the essential starting point for a wired-to-wireless adapter.

Still no CarPlay? Try another data cable and consult the vehicle's manual before assuming an adapter will fix it. Our compatibility explainer spells out the difference between converting wired CarPlay and adding CarPlay from scratch.

How to set up wireless CarPlay in a compatible 308

  1. Disconnect the iPhone cable and plug the adapter into the USB port that passed the wired test. Use the supplied connector if the port shape requires it.
  2. Start the vehicle and wait for the adapter's pairing screen to appear.
  3. On your iPhone, switch on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Select the adapter's advertised Bluetooth name and approve the pairing and CarPlay prompts.
  4. Allow the first connection to finish. Leave both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled for future starts.
  5. Test navigation, music, a hands-free call and the steering-wheel controls while parked. Keep your eyes on the road once you set off.

If it doesn't connect

The screen stays on the normal Peugeot menu

Check that you used the same USB data port that ran wired CarPlay. Unplug the adapter, restart the infotainment system if your handbook allows, then reconnect it. A charging-only socket will not do.

The phone pairs but CarPlay never opens

Keep Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on, remove stale pairings from both phone and car, then pair afresh while parked. If a different iPhone works by cable but yours does not, investigate the phone settings first. See our wireless connection troubleshooting guide.

It cuts out on the road

Make sure the adapter is seated firmly, try the original cable connection again to isolate the fault, and follow the manufacturer's update instructions if an update is available. Avoid loose USB extensions. Read our disconnection checks for a fuller diagnosis.

What changes by market?

Market What to check on a 308
🇬🇧 United Kingdom Check your Peugeot's specification and actual USB projection port; right-hand-drive layout changes where you may reach the socket, not the wired-CarPlay requirement.
🇪🇺 Europe Trim names and infotainment packages vary by country. Test your own vehicle rather than borrowing another listing's specification.
🇺🇸 United States The 308 is not a typical US-market new-car model. If yours is an import, verify its installed head unit and wired CarPlay directly.
🇨🇦 Canada For an imported 308, confirm phone projection on the actual vehicle and check delivery availability before ordering.
🇦🇺 Australia Compare the local vehicle equipment with a live wired iPhone test; year and trim labels alone cannot confirm compatibility.

Wherever you are, check current shipping terms and availability at checkout rather than assuming the same delivery options in every country.

Frequently asked questions

Does a wireless adapter add CarPlay to a Peugeot 308 without factory CarPlay?

No. This type of adapter converts an existing wired CarPlay connection. A missing factory feature calls for a different head-unit solution.

Is the Peugeot 308 the same as the Peugeot 3008?

No. The 308 is a hatchback or estate; the 3008 is an SUV. Their infotainment options need checking separately.

Do I need mobile data for the adapter to connect?

The phone-to-car connection is distinct from mobile data, although online maps and streaming still need data. See CarPlay without internet.

Will steering-wheel buttons work?

Controls that already work with factory wired CarPlay should generally continue through the car's existing interface, but test your specific 308.
